

I think I like how they did it better in the movie actually because Stacee and the reporter finally do end up together and so do Sherrie and Drew. The reporter takes on that role in the movie. The single, most remarkable thing that made the Manila staging of Rock of Ages (directed by Chari Arespacochaga) unique is that it’s a veritable concert by a cast almost entirely composed. In the musical, Sherrie does actually have sex with Stacee Jaxx in the bathroom of the Bourbon. As far as I can remember that part didn't exist in the musical, or if it did it was a much smaller role. Also, I'm not quite sure what to make of the reporter's role in the movie. They represent the usual, dewy-eyed hopefuls who pour into Hollywood each day yearning for the success, fame, and immortality. They could've just cut that whole storyline all together and it would've been a better movie. Although Tom Cruise is billed last in the opening credits, the 'Mission Impossible' superstar steals 'Rock of Ages' from young, star-crossed lovers Diego Boneta and Juliana Hough.
